Ebay Selling Paypal Continue With Paypal Button Mot Working

Just started today.
I tried to order something on ebay and pay by Paypal and a Captcha in the paypal popup came on.
I am not a robot and a box to click.
Then entered my password and the paypal busy icon spun then it went back into checkout with no payment.
Checked my paypal account and the same I am not a robot appeared but all went through ok and i entered my account.
I still cannot buy using Paypal.
Paypal say they do not use Captcha.
Ebay say theres nothing wrong.
Ive tried edge ,chrome and it work once on Firefox but no longer does.
Any idea if this is an issue on my system or on Ebay/paypal

are you sure you are on the REAL LEGIT paypal site when you are entering your info?
you could be on a scam site that LOOKS LIKE PAYPAL
before you enter any info always look at the website address in the address bar to make sure you are on the legit site

I just made two separate purchases on ebay using PAYPAL. It works perfectly.

If paypal doesn't use captcha then you likely have malware on your computer. You could of sent your
info to a criminal instead of paypal or ebay.
Run your security programs and if you want a professional opinion follow the directions below.
Please follow the instructions in the Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help - Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help starting at Step 6.
- If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
- In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running FRST which will create two logs.
When you have done that, post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help , NOT here , for assistance by the Malware Response Team.
Start a new topic, give it a relevant title and post your log(s) along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. If you cannot produce any of the required logs...start the new topic anyway. Explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happened when you tried to create them. A member of the Malware Removal Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer.
After doing this, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can close this one.
DO NOT bump your new topic. Wait for a response from one of the Team Members.

I just found this thread via google and I wanted to tell you that you're not alone. I had the exact same problem just now. I tried multiple computers, multiple browsers, nothing worked. I would click the (O) button for paypal at ebay check out and it would bring up the paypal login screen but then after I do the paypal login, it's -SUPPOSED- to go to where it sends me an SMS and I enter the challenge code to get in to my account but ebay wouldn't let me get to the SMS Challenge section and instead it just went right back to ebay and the paypal (O) was unchecked and I couldn't complete check out with paypal. I don't know what causes this, and I hope it will go back to normal to check out with my computers later. But I wanted to register for an account to tell you how to at least check out right now: The app. Go get the ebay mobile app for your smart phone and check out through that and it should work for you.
Also you don't have a virus and that post above by buddy215 is completely useless and unhelpful. There's nothing wrong with your computer. It's ebay being stupid at the moment.
EDIT: If you add something to your cart via computers / desktop on ebay.com, then go open the app on your phone, it will show up in your cart on the ebay app so you can just hop through to checkout in the app.

Thats exactly what happens.
Ive scanned with malwarebytes and nortons and nothing on my computer.
I guess I will wait for a while and see if Ebay/Paypal sort themselves out.
Ebay claim theres nothing wrong as does Paypal.

Just did a search using Paypal not working on Ebay Kithylin is right about many reports of PayPal not being accepted on Ebay.
If the seller accepts another form of payment then that is the way to go for now.
No comment on using the app suggested by Kithylin.
Thanks Kithylin for bringing this to our attention. Not being an Ebay customer...that was helpful. Thanks again for taking the time
to do that.

I just wanted to comment that the "App" I was referring to was the officially licensed ebay app from what ever app store. I found the official ebay app on the google play store and used that.

That's the one I picked up. I ignore all reviews on products like this. There's literally 1.2 million reviews. Of course someone will have some issues with millions of comments. It's impossible to make everyone happy. It's safe with our password and user account info. It's created and released by the actual ebay company. I just need to use it to check out. I don't browse on it I don't intend to ever use it ever again. I just thought I would share a work around that works for folks until they fix the website is all. I'll probably uninstall the app from my phone now that I got checkout completed.

I can confirm that the problem is definitely happening as I just lost an hour trying to pay for an item with paypal on various devices, locations, browsers and OS's.
The payment integration between ebay and paypal looks like it has been updated, with a recaptcha being added into the payment procedure and a right blinking big bug also.
A long story short, after much "spinny spinnny", it just paps you back to the original ebay payment screen without bringing up the paypal redirect.
As previously mentioned, it worked for me using the ebay android apk, so anyone with the same issue, should use that as a workaround until they fix the bug.
